Why go lithium? A lithium-ion battery is a rechargeable battery that is charged and discharged by lithium ions moving between the negative (anode) and positive (cathode) electrodes.

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries have some of the best energy densities. Lithium-ion batteries are secondary cells, meaning that they can be recharged and reused hundreds of times and are more stable. They tend to have a higher energy density, voltage capacity, and lower self-discharge rate than other rechargeable batteries. This makes for better power efficiency as a single cell has longer charge retention than other battery types.

Why are lithium batteries better?

Compared with traditional battery technology, lithium-ion batteries charge faster, last longer, and have a higher power density for more battery life in a lighter package.

Is a lithium battery better than a regular battery?

Lithium batteries are more expensive than their alkaline equivalents but perform for a much longer lifespan.

How long does the Lithium-Ion battery in the Halo SL last?

A fully charged ILLUMAGEAR 18650 3400 mAh Li-Ion battery lasts at least 5 1/2 hours in any mode in average temperatures. The battery will last much longer in certain modes, such as Dim. You can buy additional batteries here. If using another Li-Ion battery, please check the specifications from your manufacturer.

Battery life can vary depending on the age of the battery and the ambient temperature. Storing or using a Li-Ion battery outside of the temperature range of -20 ~ +50°C (-4°F ~ + 122°F) may shorten battery life.

How long does it take to recharge batteries using the Halo 2-battery 18650 Li-Ion Charger?

Batteries will typically charge up to about 80% within 3 hours. However, it can take up to 5 hours to charge 2 fully drained batteries.

Why we chose to use Lithium-Ion Batteries

We chose to use lithium-ion batteries for our products because they’re reliable, durable, and built to last, just like our Halo SLs and Sixth Sense. Lithium-ion batteries help us create a safer world for people working in any environment with their long-lasting battery life.
